We're just one month away from the release of Elden Ring Runes. Some have already decided to take off from work to play. Some are also planning to log off from the internet in order to avoid what will likely be another round of game-related difficulties. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki has addressed the issue in a new interview, stating that although he didn't set out to make Elden Ring more accessible as some might have thought however, he believes more players are likely to complete it than the previous FromSoftware games.
The game's difficulty and accessibility over via the PlayStation Blog, Miyazaki tried to clear the air on what the Dark Souls games are really about before going into the reasons the game's creator hopes Elden Ring won't stress players out more than his previous games.
"I consider that our approach to these games, not just Elden Ring, is to make them fun and encourage players to rise above adversity," he said. "We do not try to force the player to be difficult or make it hard just for the sake of it. We encourage players to employ their skills, be smart, study the game, memorize what's happening, and learn through their errors."
We don't want gamers to believe that the game is unfairly punishing them, but instead that there is a chance to win a difficult encounter and move forward. We understand that Souls-like games are often associated with impossible levels of difficulty that have the high barrier to admission. We try to create the games to make the endless effort to conquer these obstacles fun in its own right. So we hope that with cheap Elden Ring Items and the new possibilities it has the game will be a success in that respect.
